The direct beneficiaries will be persons with disabilities, particularly those coming from poor socio-economic backgrounds, who have been unable to obtain education, mobility and livelihood opportunities from their parents and care givers.  The students will also benefit from acquiring knowledge and skills in different fields, which will assist persons with disabilities to access basic needs.  The trained students, many of them disabled themselves, will work professionally in their respective areas.  The increased level of production of affordable mobility appliances will benefit everyone concerned.  NGOs and low income countries participating in this project will also benefit.  The increased level of education and awareness among people and the community at large will lead to the decrease in both severity of disability and the number of persons with disability
